Chain of events: My life until now-In a nutshell
As a child it was clear to me that I would become a mermaid once I grew up. Then, for a while, I wanted to be Indiana Jones, but since I was always expressing myself with drawings I knew that my life would have something to do with art.
A trip to Italy, after high school graduation, brought the idea of working in the field of fresco restoration. With this goal in mind I started my path towards restoration with fine arts-studies at the Avni Institute in Tel-Aviv-Jaffa. Photography was just one of many courses (painting, sculpture, print, art history) but I quickly realized that my real passion was working in the dark room on my own pictures.
One year of fine arts studies was over when I enrolled myself in the Musrara School of Photography, Media and New Music in Jerusalem.
During three years in the photography department, I developed my skills as a creator of images. I began working on my first long term project "Late Bloomer" in 2004 as a part of my graduation exhibition. One of these images was chosen as the PR image for the Musrara graduates-exhibition. After graduating I spent six months in New York, working as an assistant photographer and as an intern at Art+Commerce Agency. I kept working on "Late Bloomer" with the help of New York's tempting cityscapes.
Coming back to Tel Aviv in 2005 I published some of my works in local magazines, participated in exhibitions locally and abroad, worked as an assistant photographer and was sent to shoot at the New York fashion week by Yoma Productions.
In 2008, I packed myself again and made the move to Berlin.
Leaving my family, friends, home and language was not an easy step to take. However I was guided by a strong instinct to plunge into new territories and start from zero as a complete stranger. I felt it would do me good as a photographer.
My short conclusion: The technical things – new language, official administrations, banks, mobiles, etc. - were the easy part, the hard part is the never ending yearning…
